3030 Poetry Challenge – Day 19

Prompt for April 19th: conundrum

Conundrum

Mrs Harvey told me I was a conundrum.
I believed this to be true,
with not the first idea what it was,
except that she,
Mrs Harvey,
didn’t like it.
Of course, at six years old,
you have to believe a teacher.
Miss O’Donovan seemed to think
this was okay,
me, being a conundrum.

Mrs Harvey told me Miss O’Donovan
was the Infant Help.
I had no idea what that was.
What I did know,
was that if Miss O’Donovan thought it was okay to be a conundrum,
then I was happy being one.
